FOR INDIAN SPICE & PROVISIONS WHOLESALERS

Turn bulk stock into packets with a clear packing record

Packing changes stock in two places at once: the bulk bag gets lighter and the packet shelf fills up. MyDukaan records both sides of the run, including wastage, so the next person can see what is ready.

One material, the packet sizes you sell

Link each packed product to its bulk material and pack size. A spice shop might sell the same chilli powder in 250 g and 500 g packets. The bulk balance represents the material available to pack; each packet size has its own finished-stock balance.

Record what went into each packing run

Choose the material and packed product, enter the bulk consumed and the number of packets produced. MyDukaan records the raw stock consumed, finished packets and wastage together. Packers can record runs while owners and managers follow the available stock.

Work through a packing example

If a run consumes 5 kg and produces ten 500 g packets, all 5 kg has become finished stock. If the same run produces nine packets, the packed output is 4.5 kg and the remaining 0.5 kg is wastage. Record the real input and output so the next count does not depend on a perfect-yield assumption.

Avoid confusing kilograms with packet counts

A balance of 10 kg does not mean ten packets, and a packet on the shelf should not also be counted as loose material. Keeping bulk and finished goods separate makes it easier to check whether an order needs packing or can be prepared from existing packets.

Make the handoff to orders clearer

Before preparing an order, check the required packet sizes against finished stock. Record the packing work, then keep the order moving through its delivery status. MyDukaan connects this work with customer orders and dues, giving your shop one daily workflow from bag to payment record.

Frequently asked questions

Can a packer record packing runs?

Yes. MyDukaan has a Packer role for recording packing work, alongside Owner, Manager and Delivery roles.

Does every run assume zero wastage?

No. Packing records include bulk consumed, packets produced and wastage. Use actual quantities to keep the stock record accurate.

Can I use different packet sizes for the same material?

Yes. Packed products belong to a bulk material and carry their own pack size, such as 250 g or 500 g.
