How many packets will that bag make?

Estimate whole packets from bulk stock. See expected packing loss and the usable remainder separately, before starting a run.

Wastage and leftover stock are different

Usable weight = bulk weight × (1 − wastage percentage ÷ 100). Whole packets = usable weight ÷ packet weight, rounded down. The remainder is usable stock that does not fill another packet.

For 5 kg bulk, 500 g packets and 2% expected wastage: lose 100 g, leaving 4.9 kg usable. Make 9 packets and retain 400 g usable stock. That 400 g is not wastage.

Questions from wholesalers

Does this update my stock?

This standalone calculator does not change your MyDukaan inventory. Record an actual packing run in the app when production is complete.

Can I use grams and kilograms together?

Yes. Select the unit for each input. The calculator converts the weights before counting whole packets.

What if the bag cannot fill one packet?

The result is zero whole packets. All usable weight appears as the remainder.
